I came across this Radio show out of Michigan on WAAM ( I believe ) and it's called the Appliance Doctor. It's on every Sat from 8 to 11 est. I use dar.fm to record it just to see what it's all about. I find that they go off topic a lot, but they do talk about appliances and issues of how they are made today, washers using too little water, people not knowing how to use them correctly, etc. Hot water heaters and how awful they are are also a big topic. People call in and ask questions too. I recorded last Saturdays show and he went off on a rant. He also raves about the pure wash system which uses ozone or something like that.

If the show is anything like NPR's Car Talk, which is a useless hour of two guys who love to laugh at their own jokes, I'll pass.  At least they admit as much at the end of each show.  I read that they were calling it quits, but I don't know if that has happened yet.  I grew tired of them long, long ago and have avoided their show for years.

WAAM 1600

Just looked into this a little. WAAM 1600 is a small 5,000 watt AM station that carries Conservative talk radio in the AnnArbor area. The audio can be streamed from their website or via the TuneIn Radio app.

The Appliance Doctor show is hosted by Joe Gagnon. It would be interesting to peruse his book "The Words & Wisdom of The Appliance Doctor".

Here is a link to the show page http://www.waamradio.com/shows/saturdays/appliance-doctor

The "appliance doctors" website...     http://www.askjoegagnon.com

I looked at the TuneIn Radio website and while it did have a page for the "appliance doctor" it had ZERO information about the times / schedule for when you could hear the show.

It's Saturdays on WAAM from 8 am to 11 am est time.

They start talking with sports, then he will go off on things that have nothing to do with appliances, then he gets back in that mode talking about appliances and has some pretty good info. He seems to feel the SAME way about todays appliances that many people on this forum do. He admits people need to read the instructions since washing machines of today aren't the same as they used to be.

I use Dar.fm to record it, which is free to sign up and schedule a recording for the fist 2 gigs, which is 100 hours. As long as you keep deleting and not reach the 2 gig point, you don't have to pay.
