I have never had any appliances shipped to me, and I found a 40" GE range I want that I need shipped from one end of PA to the other.

I was hoping someone here could point me in the direction of a reasonably priced place to have this range shipped.

Thanks,

Sam

Youcrate.com has worked for me.....not bad pricing....relatively fast....

May I ask where it's coming from?......why not just drive out on a Saturday and pick it up?.....just wondering

Martin,

It would be coming from the Scranton-Wilksbarre area, I just figured that after renting something to haul it with and the gas used that it would be close to the same to just have it shipped and skip the 12 hours of driving, even though I will be going there in a few months.

I thought maybe from the Eastern side of Penna like Philadelphia or surrounding area....Maybe we could have got it and met half way or got a gang of AW members and met in Phila for lunch....just a thought....

YouCrate will drop off a pallet (with sides and a top) and then deliver it to you, roughly at your driveway...you have to consider it will ship in an 18 wheeler...thats what happen when I used them.....I could have had it dropped off at a Consolidated Warehouse near me, and then went with the truck to get it from there...a little cheaper...but whatever works for you....give them a call and see what the quote will be...

I'm down to a Van or the Jeep or Excursion to move appliances...we got rid of the truck....and then theres also the trailer, but someday I want a truck again...just easier...

Well Martin,

I will be heading out that way for a visit in late August, I will be about an hour from Philly, so maybe we can meet up and have lunch somewhere while I am in the area, it would be great to have an oppurtunity to meet you.

I did think about getting a 15 passenger van from the Ford Dealer for the weekend but I'm not sure the it will be high enough of an opening for the range

anything is possible.....we'll keep it in mind....

I have a 15 passenger Dodge Van....and most of the washers and dryers I get are laid on the backs, I don't think I can stand them up, and I would have to tilt them in and up to clear the control panel....

We have looked at Ford Vans, and even though the seats come out, there are 2 bars that stickup about 3 inches all the way down, that get in the way, should you want to move appliances...the Dodge has a flat floor with the seats removed, and they are a PITA to take out and install....
