It always seemed like Aunt Bea would have had an Electrolux XXX!
Does anyone remember the "MY Three Sons" show where Bub was using the Electrolux at the front door but they used the sound from a Hoover? It just didn't seem right to me even as a child.
How about the tv show "Blondie" where Dagwood is cleaning the sofa with the Air-Way or that reminds me of the "Lassie" where Jeff's mother is clearly using the Air-Way to clean the front hall. How about the early tv show "Life of Riley" with William Bendix and the Air-Way man comes to sell a machine. Now I am telling my age!

What a Wonderful "Vacuum & Appliance Fix"

WOW! ...What Fun!!

Fred and Robert, you guys are amazing. One of my favorite obsessions is spotting vacuums in old TV series espisodes. Robert, it looks like you perfected your "nose twitching" skill with producing those shot so quickly. Fred, your connection to Robert's pics of the Andy Griffith espisodes with shots of your machines is fabulous. This is the part of the vacuum world that really gets me juiced. Love connecting to the history. It is so wonderful to see these classic machines (and they definitely are classic) from "back in the day."

On a personal note, my mom had coppertone appliances from the mid 60's, all Hotpoint (considered GEs top-of-the-line, right??) including a bottom freezer frig, self-cleaning stove and built-in dishwasher. They lasted forever, except the dishwasher. The people who bought our house in the early 70s replaced it with a Kitchenaid.

I just watched this episode of Andy Griffith(season 6) on netflix. This episode is called Aunt Bee on TV. She demonstrated the disposal with a piece of cake. It looks to be an Insinkerator when she is on the game show. In the same season is another episode called Lost & Found. Aunt Bee thinks that she lost a valuable pin and her insurance company gave her a check for it. She mentions that she wants a garbage disposal since she had to give the one from the game show back. She uses the money to buy one and then finds the pin. She ends up keeping the disposal at the end.

Wasn't there an epi where Aunt Bea buys a bunch of meat and there is a story line around a belt-driven ammonia freezer?
