I've been behind on my pictures...again! Many more things will be posted in the future. Here's the first.
This 1976 Shop-Vac "Aqua-Kleen" 8-gallon was on eBay in October, with original instruction manual, green foam filter, and all of the accessories. Supposedly the Aqua-Kleen series were lower-end models, however I didn't see anything "low-end" here! It showed little use and was in pretty good shape. I grabbed it at $6--a steal since the last "minty" vintage Shop-Vac (an unused 1980's model) went for over $65!! I "detailed" the motor, ran the housing through the dishwasher, and replaced the strain relief, but that's about it! You can't beat the "round" housing style and metal tank--IMHO looks better than anything made today!
As with all vintage Shop-Vacs, the Aqua-Klean has suction comparable to today's 16-gallons. In fact, out of the three, it is the strongest. I used it when we put up the Christmas tree yesterday--EXCELLENT at tackling pine needles, which would clog up any other vacuum!
