I grew up with a suds-saving Kenmore, so reusing wash water makes sense to me. Improving on this vintage idea, the AquaFresco filters and sanitizes the water for reuse.
While currently aimed at commercial applications (hotels; car washes), the manufacturer is working on a unit for residential use.
This idea for significant reduction of water usage makes more sense to me than the unit that fills your machine with thousands of polymer beads (explained in another thread).
