Are there any commercial versions of a washer available that are a better deal than Speed Queen TC5?

I think I read that Speed Queen makes washers for laundromats, besides their own branded products, that are under a different brand name. Are they or another brand as good and would a commercial washer dealer sell to a home owner? I'm in Minnesota. I want something that is a top loader and super durable. Any advice? Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

if you went something super durable i would suggest vintage

if you went something super durable and can not afford speed queen i would look for a vintage belt drive or direct drive whirlpool washer dryer set like these the direct drive is under the inglis brand name but its a whirlpool or an older speed queen awn432 and advance if your good at restoring older machine but lots of experts on the site can guide you tagging combo32 your expertise would help since i am not that experiance

I would expect the Maytag "commercial" model to have maybe half the durability of a Speed Queen at best, and maybe twice the durability of other washers made by Whirlpool. And I think that's on the optimistic side.

I have seen the Maytag "commercial" and Speed Queen compared and discussed on threads here. As I recall I also saw where someone here has replaced transmissions on the Maytag that failed early, and had pictures of the plastic, or nylon, or whatever gears, and rusty shafts.

Be aware that both the SQ TC5 and the Maytag (and sibling Whirlpool) "commercial" model don't have a water level control for multiple load sizes.

TC5 fills approx halfway to two-thirds for the default level, 3 to 4.5 gals more (depends which cycle) with Deep Fill selected.  No other choices.

The Mtg and WP are supposedly auto-sensing for Normal and Rinse & Spin cycles but may also end up about half-filled.  All other cycles (Mixed, Delicates, Powerwash, Bulky/Towels) are Deep Water full-fill.  No other choices.

Not a concern when always running full loads ... perhaps not so good if small loads are common.
