Are You A Dial Pusher?

I'm in church choir and I notice that when our organist is finished playing a song on the organ is presses a "clear" button. He says if he didn't, you would get some strange sounds!

Except in the case of the AMP (where the light stays on as long as the dial is out), I don't shut the timers off after the load is done.

As far as pushing the dial ahead to move through the cycle more quickly or change something, it depends. On the timed-fill WO-65-2, sometimes the water pressure isn't enough to fill the tub completely for the rinse and I have to bring the dial back around again for a few more minutes of fill.

I can definitely relate to that organist pressing the "clear" button after playing. The organist at my church had an incident occur during a service one time because of settings and memories that were not cleared. We have a Kurtzweil Mark 10 electronic synth/organ. One of the kids from the youth group was in the service before it started practicing playing. He was using the MIDI sequencer in it to record his playing, and then listen to it back. One of the songs he played was the Star Wars theme song. Only, he forgot to clear it out of memory after he was finished. The organist, who was not very savvy in the modern electronic units, then came in and played the music for the service. Thinking the organ was in a different mode, she pressed a button in the middle of the service that unleashed that Star Wars theme song in full volume during a calm, somber part of the service. I was on the sound board at the time, and noticed the foul-up. I instantly muted the audio feed from the organ, while she frantically pushed buttons, and finally resorted to the on/off switch to get it to stop playig on it's own!!!

Switch

Finally got the camera up and running. Here is a pic of the switch that I use for my Maytag Neptune to turn the light off and leave the door ajar. Never had a mold issue since 1997.
