Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Which brings up another

thing...sometimes I like a shower gel, and they are almost as frequently discontinued/reformulated.

GoJo used to have a nice one called "Shower Up," and when possible, I like to buy local, or at least regional, products. (Which is part of the reason why I've stayed with P&G too long.)

For a while, I used an Avon shower gel-- "Aqua Clean".. worked well, had an excellent fresh scent...

But, on the other hand, soaps and shower gels, and shampoos are generally not very expensive, so I don't feel too bad about trying new ones, but once I find one that is compatible, I like to stay with it a while.

Has anyone ever heard of "Big Wally"? It came in a can with a cartoon or Big Wally in a red white and blue color scheme. The can was a little bigger than a bottle of Pledge. It was a white foam and it cleaned your walls. You just sprayed the foam, let it sit, and then wiped the walls clean. It removed dirt, crayon, etc. without hurting the paint. I would like to find some of it. I have looked and asked but have not seen it in years. As a child, my mother swore by it.

I remember Big Wally, it wasn't out long iirc. My mother wasn't one for buying that sort of stuff in fancy spray foam containers and such so I don't think it ever graced our walls. Just like she wouldn't buy us Crazy Foam for the bath or if you're even older you might remember when Colgate toothpaste was also available in cans something like the short squat shaving cream cans. Wouldn't buy that either no matter how I pleaded and whined we only got the tube stuff, when they were made of aluminum and not plastic tubes. LOL

Two more.....Downy Advanced/Enhancer and Noxzema Cocoa Butter Enriched Shave Cream....

Two OLDIES.....Johnson Complete furniture polish and Frusen Gladje ice cream (mmmm....)

All the great stuff gone

My biggest miss: Fresh Start

What i would give for some....

Dash is another one i recall...

Spic n Span is great, we had some old stuff under the sink forever... It was great...

Fuller Brush! I wondered where I might find a wax applicator. I use Future on my "no wax" floor and it does beautifully. It gets scrubbed thoroughly with the Floor a Matic and some kind of Armstrong Floor Cleaner I found.

Only one store I can find Future in, and that's really it for wax. There used to be a product like Mop n Glo, only it came in a yellow bottle. I loved that but haven't seen it since I came to California. I forget the name.

I remember Big Wally but I'm sure it's the 70s since I ever saw that. Remember Janitor in a Drum? And Glory. With Glory, you can clean your rug this afternoon, entertain guests tonight.

I didn't realize they fooled with original Pledge, but you've gotta be careful with anything that has that orange stuff in it, that you don't use too much and get it all off or you end up with a greasy, nasty mess.

Yellow bottle

Scott, do you mean "Brite", Johnson's one-step floor cleaner/polisher?

It's still widely available here, as is Future.

It is "Perk", in the green bottle, that has vanished here.

Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific!!

Does anyone remember this shampoo? It was big back in the late 70's, early 80's.
One shampoo I really miss is the original green Clairol Herbal Essense. It had an amazing scent and really cleaned my hair and scalp.

RINSO and RAIN BARREL~Thats What I forgot

The formulation of Rinso I remember is something i would pay money for.. That SMELL..... OH THAT SMELL.. My mom used both together often...

http://~

I miss the Pledge Floor Cleaner that you mixed with water in a bucket, like Murphy's, but it was SO much better....

Ecover Floor Soap comes close, but no cigar.....

Lemon Scented Borax Fab. Wisk and Purex detergent tabs. Original scented Tide WITH phosphates. I can only thank God that Fresh Start is still around...I love that stuff.

I wasn't alive when Dash was on the market, but hearing great comments about it in the past, I'm surprised no one has mentioned that.

I also wish they still made Liquid Gold appliance polish as well. Strangely enough, I've used the wood version on appliances and it seems to work OK. No visible grain in the porcelain ;-)
