Ariston & Seeboard Spinner - Playtime !!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hi Craig,

They are a weird machines, same as the Rolls machines etc..just whirling, around and around...with the ocassional surge of clothes and spray of water everywhere off the re-circulating jet !!

I will upload one at some point.
Cheers

Lovely set there Keith. Looks like they are in superb condition

One of the neighbours when I was growing up had a Colston coronet twin tub and I remember the whirlpool effect as it spun round assisted by that jet of water. Different storey with the washing in though - you definitely needed the lid down! It was really dangerous as for some reason the back was never attached so all the live parts were exposed. I can vaguely remember the innards.

Look forward to the videos. I wonder if there are any members with the coronet as I'd love to see one again

Hi Steve,

They are in rather good condition although I may have to use the Ariston for another project, bit of a shame but the "Project machine" will be worth it :)

Colston took over where Rolls left off I think, and there machines were so basic, the reviews in any Which magazines of the time reflected this, but as a cheap washer did ok i guess. The Seeboard spinner was a great find, again cheap in construction and was manufactured by Tallent which also made low-priced twin tubs.

Not sure anyone in the group has a Coronet twinny, be good to see one.

Cheers

Hi Keith.

Love the spinner - never seen one before.
An unusual combination - thanks for posting the photos.

Hi Paul, it is a weird one!! Never seen one before. It was made for Seeboard electricity - own brand. It is made by Tallent who i think used Rolls parts and design. It is quite fast, and i think the emptying hose is original.
Glad you liked the pics :) - ps. Sorry for the delay been in SA
Cheers Keith
