Look what we got! Total $25 + $3 + $3 + $4 +$20 = $55 But I UNIMATIC'ED them down to $35 for the WHOLE shebang!!

 

I need a new VacSystem here but don't want to shell out right now so I was actually on the way to Ocean State Job Lot to look at rebuilt vacs! Our 35 year old Central never had power heads and Artey; being violent with his humpy and all; rips off tiny threads that stick to the wall to wall carpet like velcro, and I can never get them up!

 

So I brought this baby home and even though its missing nozzles the motor and beater bar are super strong and the threads in the carpet are now a thing of the past!

$17.00 vs $2000.00 for a new central vac! HAH!

I can't find the feature: what is STAIR CLEANING HANDLE mean??

These were the last hoover vacuums made in Australia and sold, as a more basic machine, the 'Hoover Duet' - fabulous

The handle is for holding the cleaner while you use the hose to clean the stairs.

quite a balancing trick on narrow stairs if you ask me!

Nice find there, that looks to be a fairly early Hoover Legacy, from the early-mid 90's. The first 4 digits of the serial number will give you the month/year of manufacture

Well, the neighbors will know you're cleaning regularly because they'll cringe every time you turn on that vac,  LOUD!  But a very good cleaner, Hoover was always No. 1 in CR in that time.

Jon, no problem for bags.  They are the same bags used in the new Black Knight vacuums.  Just go to www.air-tec.com  and you can order them.

The new bags for the Air-Way - Air-Tech are really nice.  The HEPA micro-filtration material is great although we'll always miss the hand-sewn wood-pulp paper originals that were a leap in vacuum technology for their time.

Last fall I picked up a Hoover Model 68 (think early 60's) in turquoise for $5 plus 3 pkgs. of bags.  Mine didn't come with any attachments, but it is a great performer nonetheless.  I'm glad you found something at your 1st sale that is fully functional.

CENTRAL VAC WITH NO POWER HEAD

Jon it is easy to add a electrified power nozzle to your CV system. I feel bad for poor Artey who will now have to have his lungs filled with dust particles and his hearing ruined by that horrible cheap portable vacuum. You we don't care about as you should know better LOL.

My sister-in-law had that model.

Worked great but then died at the 15 year mark.

I agree with Greg, they are loud.

Personally, I really like my Royal model 994 (navy blue trimmed all metal upright)

Good luck with selecting a new central vac .... lots to pick from in today's market.
