Our own Travlincub is here in Reno and just like Dan has discovered our haulaway pile. Just like Christmas... Just yesterday, A very good friend and customer bought a new Maytag 9000 frontload set and asked me to find these Askos a good home. I guess Las Vegas is a good home. I have little experience with Askos so I will ask the pros their opinion. Good or not so good... BTW there is NOTHING wrong with them The controls just didn't do what she wanted them to...

Here's the washer:

Model WL6511 XXLW

AAAAHHHHHH!!!!

My eyes are burning!!!

:P

That damn haul away pile can be a bloody curse to those with limited space!!!!!

I'm telling you. Cub has decided to leave his W/P D/D (which was a basket case for me to try to breathe life into...) to make room for these in the van. I found out that they are still current models, too. He also has noted what a wonderful place our haulaway pile is... His eyes got all big at all the machines in back...

Andrew The ASKO pair is made by Dawooo they are not true sweden design except there Quattro plus 4 shock suspension system but i heard that they had some vibration issues according to my colleges.

Well here are a few features-
1. They will heat up to 155F
2. 1150 RPM
3. 3.8 cu ft
4.. Reversible Door
5. 10 degree inclined Drum
6. 2 year warrenty

Dryer
1. Butterfly drying which suppose to give a figure 8 pattern
2. Quattro plus 4 shock suspension system
3 .2 year warrenty

Are you keeping them or trying them out first ?
Tell us how you like them.

Ooh The suspension system is the same on the washer.
Quattro plus 4 shocks & 2 springs an ASKO PATENT suspension system.
That is what they clam I don't no if it leaves up to the same as there true counterparts.

They are going to my House in Vegas... It will become my new daily driver.. The dryer will be my second, as my gas whirlpool will be first...

In typical consumer reports fashion this washer is hated by consumer reports.. Its the lowest rated machiene... The few reviews i see online give it mixed reviews.. I will get it home and play with it

I do the like the fact that it has water up to the door and appears to use alot more water... I also like how quite it was.. And also i didnt notice it at all shaking or vibrating as people say..I will make sure its very level...

Hey i wont complain..Its free...

Just curious what reliablity might be like??? Daewoo doesnt have many bad marks nor does asko for reliablity issues

We ran them thru several loads of heavy shop towels to see how (and if...) they worked. I'm actually impressed on how they did. The water level actually seemed decent, the wash action was good and the loads spun out with no vibration at all. Very quiet too. You'll still have to pry my MAH4000's out of my cold dead fingers but these aren't bad. TCub liked the sanitary cycle with the water heating. I looked these up and Asko still has these listed as current models. So now Cub has to fit his belt drive, the Maytag d/w and the Askos into a Kia mini van... If he had his way, Kevin's GE set and my Wards 'burpalator' would be going as well...

I didn't realize that the Askos were so big. All I've ever seen were the smaller units...

These machines look interesting. This is actually the first time that I have seen them in other pictures than those on the Asko website. I assume they can't be very old, not older than a few years, perhaps newer.

If you are in the opportunity to make a video of the washer I would love to see it.

Daewoo also makes a FL model for Crosley. I haven't tried to sell one yet. What makes me shudder about Daewoo was their oh so POS Maytag refrig that they built a few years back when Maytag was tanking. But hey, free is free and you can't argue with that!

A Daewoo built Maytag refrig? I'm drawing a blank here

Me too. I was under the impression that up until Whirlpool took over the Maytag Refers were still built by Maytag. The bottom freezers I had heard are still built in the Amana Colonies in IA.
