At long last, I got my 806's!!!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Jeff ... FANTASTIC Maytag's!!

Looks like you will be having years of enjoyment with these.

AND ... you found a couple of measuring cups; how cool. That Tide with Bleach is just before they went "Ultra".

ENJOY!!

Those are beautiful indeed, but now I need to find me an A806s. There is just something about a suds-saver that turns me on!

Bulletproof legs and a goatee - Helen's gonna love that!

Wow, you guys got a lot done on Sunday! Good job on the install and the dryer vent - I'm glad I didn't see that, I would have needed smelling salts! All made worthwhile by the end result and what was behind dryer #1, Dynamo cups are very fun to find and a nice shape for measuring the sample of Tide that came in the Maytag ;-)

Did you throw out the Extra detergent? Hee hee...

Did you throw out the Extra detergent? Hee hee...

Ok just what did you say about the EXTRA detergent???

Michael was muttering something about it on Sunday as we were working...nothing bad, he was laughing at something you'd said!

Those cups were so cool, but if you'd seen the crap behind those Shredmores, I was thinking we were gonna find Jimmy Hoffa!

Jeff and Michael those machines look so at home!! It was so much fun being part of the moving group to get them there.

serial numbers

Ben sent me the Maytag Cheat sheet, but I am having some trouble with reading it, so here are the serial numbers,
I think I have the dates for the two dryers right, but have no clue for the washer

A806 Washer serial# 229640 MU
DE806 dryer # 647847 BK(September 1970?)
DG608 dryer #568240 CX (December 1979?)

Any help is appreciated!

Jeff

Hey Jeff -

After looking at the list - it appears that the 806 dryer is actually a May of 1966 unit. Your 608 dryer is spot on at December of 1979.

Rule of thumb - of the two letter code
1st letter = Year
2nd letter = Month

Let me know if you need anything else - good looking machines bud!

Ben

Please decode... I'm missing it. Maybe
if I considered the puzzle for awhile I would
figure it out, but easier to just say "Huh?"

------------------------------------------------

Rule of thumb - of the two letter code
1st letter = Year
2nd letter = Month

A806 Washer serial# 229640 MU
DE806 dryer # 647847 BK(September 1970?) may/66
DG608 dryer #568240 CX (December 1979?) dec/79

...washer is a September of 1971
...806 dryer is actually a May of 1966 unit.
...608 dryer is spot on at December of 1979.

my A608 washer(which you have seen in person) is: 671345 CP
And that 608 is one darn fine machine to boot! August of 1979.

Thanks Jeff - I've typed the secret decoder thingy into
text format here so it takes less space than a .jpg file
(if it is useful to anyone else.) Sorry I can't get
the "extra" line spaces to go away, but if you cut and
paste it into your word processor you can make it neater.

Thanks

I have copied and pasted it into a word file as well. Part of the problem is my printer is not functioning properly at home, and it printed this out so I could just barely read it!
