We'll see under the skirt with all her gas singed hot spots.   Do Jimmy and Gloraia (??:) Stewart come with the ensemble of the combo?

1958 WP Gas Combo

This was an easy buy for me because one of my cousins lives only a mile or so from where this machine was located. He will be able to pick it up and hold it at their family owned plumbing and heating business till I drive back through after Christmas on my way home from Minnesota. My Cousin and son own and run Lefever Plumbing and Heating in Elkhart In. if anyone in this area needs really good help in this area, they are very competent.

My Friend John E in St Paul Mn. is currently doing a ground up restoration on a 1957 WP Electric combo so getting this machine may assist he and I with getting our machines running.

Congratulations, John.

Long before learning to appreciate front-loaders. this machine had nevertheless been on my Bucket List ever since seeing Robert's when I first joined Automatic Washer 6 or 7 years ago. The upward squirting recirculation jet hooked me from the get-go, that, and the first open-drain tumble rinse. How I loved seeing that. I'm so glad you got it. The front shot in the first pic looks pretty good. Can't remember if the guy said it works. Not that that has ever stopped you.

Hey, small world. Hundreds of conversations and plumbing never came up. My great uncle had a plumbing company in Boston NY and both my father and grandfather were plumbers. Neat, huh!

"first open-drain tumble rinse." Maybe you have this machine confused with the Bendix tumble washers and Duomatics where the first rinse is a flush rinse. That is the feature for which Westinghouse had to pay big bucks to AVCO in order to use as Jon told us. This machine has a diverter valve near the top right hand side of the machine where the hose from the pump branches. To the right is the drain hose and to the left a hose descends down the front to supply the Filter Stream nozzle. It can either recirculate or drain. It can't do both at the same time. The sump holds 3 gallons of water and that is the amount of water each of the rinses uses. The wash fill takes more water because it has to saturate the load as well as fill the sump.

Looks like a nice machine!
John, did you ever get the WP Gas Combo that you had at the warehouse running? It was this same model correct? I think you got it ages ago from Robert.
