Well look at that!

All that is old is new again. I like their cobalt blue model though. I wonder if orange counter tops will come back to go with, or also harvest gold.

That blue looks similar to the pastel blue they had in the early 60s.  awesome.

Avocado to go along with Instagramers and Millenials interest in Avocado Toast.

Avocado on toast is Australia's gift to the world.

In Australian restaurants it is generally called "Smashed Avo."
Traditionally served with a little crumbled feta cheese and a poached egg.
Often bacon on the side.

(Old boomers often sneer that young folks can't afford to buy a house cause they have blown their money on smashed avo breakfasts every weekend...)

I can't stand avocado coloured appliances, though.

What do you guys think of the Kitchenaid 2020 color of the year?

Every time I see that "Kyoto something" it reminds me "The Exorcist" (that vomit scene)

I'm a fan of red. The Empire red isn't exactly the shade that I love, but it's a more "classic" color that I can have everything (or almost everything) matching. (mixer, toaster, blender, personal coffee maker that I love more than everything, food chopper that is fantastic and my kitchen is still missing some items)

I saw the Kitchenaid stove when it was released. For a second I almost fainted and of course I wanted it... Until i discovered 2 deal breaker facts: 1) It doesn't have a self-cleaning feature (just that steam crap that makes a mess) and 2) The price. For that price i'd buy a Viking or AGA.

I’ve used that wash bored once and it works well but I don’t think my Maytag A606 will go out anytime soon since it had to have been sitting in storage for at least 20 years, and the dryer didn’t have much lint inside at all. Haven’t had any issues with the DG306 since I put it into service last summer, but I’ll take it apart this summer to clean the lint out and oil and grease all the bearings while I have it apart

20 years in storage?  Wow,  How in the world.....?

Yes, pastel candy pink, sunny yellow, and ....whatever the light blue was (not turquoise).   Let's all pray nicely to the color gods to make it happen.

The avocado cream looks more like a moss green that's sometimes seen on newer Lincoln cars, vacuums etc. It doesn't look like the classic avocado to me but I kind of like it. It could just be the picture making it look different though.

The reason why I say 20 years in storage is the timer was stiff on the Maytag A606, and it was stiff because it hadn’t been turned in a long time. When I tried it out for the first time on the spin cycle, it took quite awhile for it to get up to speed and the belts were fine but again it hadn’t been used in a very long time. I think the real reason why it was taken out of service is the small metal clips that hold it on were broken, and when looked through the pilot access panel the motor was no longer attached to the base and had moved to the left side of the cabinet. Here’s photos of the back panel removed when I first got it home that night

I have no clue. The person I bought them from said they were given him, but he decided to sell them since the push button assembly on the dryer was stuck (the dryer was originally a DG606 but I converted it to DG306) and wasn’t even sure if the dryer worked or not and he decided to sell them as a pair since matching older sets are not all that common. Happened to spot them on the Los Angeles Craigslist earlier that week and called the guy and said I would come by to pick them up that weekend and that’s the story of how I got my Maytag A606 set
