sorta-kinda like the Imperial 90 I have.the controls on the one pictured are diffrent.Mine has the pushbutton temp controls.-and rotary knob water deph and speed controls.Too bad they don't give an interior shot-guessing it has a Surgilator.Good machine-better than the dreck WP makes now.

I am glad to see some one else thinks that whirlpool quality has sliped. Back in the 60's and the 70's whirlpool made a pretty good washer but the stuff they are making now is junk. I'm sorry, but the dual/corkscrew type agitators do not work the better agitators were a solid fin with the wavey blades on it. They didn't frey the edges of towels and other clothes with a flexable fin that chatches things on it. Also the Norge/Fedders agitators were very good and the angel wings of the Kelivators all were solid fin/or vane agitators. I wish that the manufactures would go back to using them.

I can go along with Norgeman-I to detest the primarily direct drive (no belt)of the newer WP-KN system-its just too fast and the short choppy agitator strokes are just not as effective-or is it they are more effective in shredding your clothes.The BD gave longer-slower more powerful strokes-this was better.And if you wanted to use the DA agitator-those slower strokes made it more effective.Less shredding of clothes.I had a KN DD machine and traded it to the swap shop for the more effective and better WP Imperial 90-love that machine-gets the most use-and it has the classic "wavy"-or undilating" vane agitator as the parts folks call it.That Surgilator gives a very "sloshy" and effective turnover.I also liked the very powerful strokes on a very old Norge washer that my mom had when I was little-loved watching it.-It had the metal lint catcher pan-"burpilator" action and those BIG vanes with the holes in them.My Mom liked that machine-she said it was the first automatic she had.Wish someone would bring that classic design back-it was one of those old designs-can think of many older things-the designs WORKED-can't improve them.

It's a late 60s machine. I think that white under the control panel is a light.

No, there isn't a light. It's too "low" for that.

Yes,It is a flourescent light.The one on my machine burned out-there are pull tabs on the ends of the flourrescent bulb so you can pull it out of the sockets-its a very narrow area where the bulb is.there is a narrow plastic lens in front of the bulb.Just need to find a new one-Lowes,HD, dosen't carry "Appliance bulbs"so far no one in Greenville doesn't have them.Want mine to work again.The panel on the machine pictured is like mine-except for some of the controls.I saved the tabs-you put them on the new bulb before you put it in.

I don't think it can be confirmed that this model has a light without contracting the seller, knowing the model number and referencing tech or sales literature, or direct examination of it. One of my dad's aunts had a 1970s avocado Whirlpool similar to this. I was just *sure* it had a light and the bulb had burned out. I figured out how to get the panel open, and no light or even sockets for one.

Notice that the timer dial is yellowed. That could be an indication of the effects of heat over time from an incandescent backlight just for the timer. My grandparents Supreme 80 had a timer backlight like that. Or it could be deterioration from sunlight or normal aging.
