vintage whirlpool looking for a new home

I have a Whirlpool washer that we purchased from a friend. It was approximately 10 years old when we purchased it and it has travelled with me as we were stationed in different states with the USAF. It has been my one and only washer for almost 30 years and I love it. We have repaired it through the years, even though many people have told us it was time to retire it. It has some significant leakage issues now. We were told that it will need a new transmission. It also has a rusted bottom causing a leak. Again, theses repairs are not difficult, but finding parts is very tough at this point. The washer is from the 1980's and is showing a model number of LHA5500N1.

My old washer friend is in my yard since I could not bear the thought of it going straight to the dump. Before we remove it I wanted to see if any of you would be interested in it. It would be free, of course, but I have no idea how it would make its way to you. Other than the leaking the barrel I think this little beauty is in good shape. PLEASE let me know if you are interested...I would love this little friend to go to a good home!

Nice, basic Whirlpool, that I hope at least has a true slow speed for the delicate cycle and nice you can do extra small loads and large...

And good if you don't use bleach and/or fabric softener or need a dispenser for either...

Does it at least have the Magic Clean lint filter? I don't see any manual lint filter, and that's at least one thing I think the otherwise spartan model it is should have...

I have a small lint cleaner inside the washer that I would manually clean periodically. Thanks for appreciating my little washer friend!

Dave, it has a manual-clean cartridge filter, the housing of which is integrated into the tub ring.  Photo #2 shows that the tub ring has been removed, so the filter also isn't shown.  #41 on the parts diagram is the filter cartridge assembly.
