Avocado Caloric Grill

If anyone is interested in this beauty let me know. It needs to be redone, either for gas or maybe convert to electric. Want a good home for it.

I checked for someone a while back on a gas grill parts site and there is nothing available for these grills. Maybe if someone knows about gas grills, they can substitute burners, etc. Otherwise the outlook is bleak. They were nice in that they were porcelain and did not discolor in the elements as badly as the black painted cast aluminum gas grills.

I have a 1965 Caloric Gas Grill. Thats right, the burners are no longer available. I have attempted to find any type of a replacement burner that may work, but these are oval with a very different base that fits directly to the gas valve. Mine looks very similar but is on a pedistal base with the hood avocado and black body.

I am a machinist, so I can custom make parts. This makes it a lot easier.

My old burner is cast iron. I still have it but I have not been able to find a replacement in that same mold. Next posting is the owners brochures they usually trash.

My Caloric grill. It came with an electric rotisserie and a hole at the bottom to light it. As any type of ignition otherwise was not invented. Gram bought it for us in 65 and I would love to cook on it again. It is in safe keeping in the attic of the garage for now.

That's the one. I think it would be easy to make it eletric. Use one of those Jenn-Air electric grill modules.
