This is a very cute web site I found awhile back, by Wesley Clark. He grew up in Southern California in the 1960's/early 1970's. Mr. Clark had photographed his parents home inside and out while he grew up and as the interior/exterior decor changed. He shares the photos and wonderful stories on the WWW. While reading some of the stories,it brought back several good memories for me,as I grew up in the same era. I like this web site so well, that it is now marked as a favourite for me. Have an idea many here would like to see this (if you have not already) so here is a link....

Quite Funny rickr

My parents still have the rather pricey Sears carpet in the living room from about 1966 or 67. Though not "avocado" ,
it is a dark moss green, still luxuriant in its sculptured
cut pile density! The coppertone highlighted kitchen was still going strong until 1995.

Funny....I was checking on that site

several months back, and now you mention it. I was just thinking about it the other day as I was looking at Yesterland.com.

thinking of avocado

Brings back memeories of our carpet that we had from the 70's right up until this past November 2005! Two tone green Hi Lo shag carpeting. Not once was it ever shampooed and when my parents got rid of it to put in ceramic tile it really looked as in great condition. My parent's say it was because i vacuumed it almost every day and laid towels by the door when it rained. That's the only thing besides the Hoover Convertible being green, all of the appliances were harvest gold.

My favorite part of that sight is chapter called Madelinize.

which is where Wes describes the unique form of the english language that his mom, Madeline, used....... as a matter of fact he does not live to far from me we both live in Fairfax County Va. he lives over in Springfield not more than 20 minutes from where I live. PAT COFFEY
