AW Jeez, What Did I Do???

So I had to tip my Simplicity TT over last week to get something under the agitator to "slide-out".
As I was tipping it, it nearly slipped and fell onto its' right side, but I caught it just before it did. (My right shoulder 'thanked' me for it later).
BUT.....
Now, when I engage the spinner there is a very subtle "ringing" sound. It's actually subtly "annoying" to the ears.
Also, noticed the other day in my second use since this incident, that the spinner is no longer braked. I lifted the lid and almost immediately put my hand in only to notice a delayed braking action. Good thing I noticed before diving my hand right I there as I usually do.
If you've seen my video, then you know how fast the spin brake is on this machine.
Everything works fine so far, but this kind of damage so soon after acquiring this "near-mint" machine has me quite concerned.
Any advice or suggestions from the experts?
I'd be very grateful.

Oh, and at least in the meantime, the A50 is working just fine.
Washes amazingly and is just soooooo much fun to use.
And a video will come very shortly.

You really need to open it up and have a look. If the rubber mounts for the spinner were perished, the extra strain of being tipped over might have caused one or more of them to fail but I'm not sure how that could affect the brake mechanism.

Yeah, I do

I know I have to get in there and have a look.
I was hoping not to have to do that so soon after acquiring it.
But this doesn't sound good to me even though it doesn't seem to be affecting the machines overall performance.

I wish it is not too serious - but things like this tend to increase our level of anxiety, at least in my own case... The best advice I could suggest is ''do not rush'' anything or try to cut corners. Last fall I did just that with one of my washers and regretted it, a somewhat butched repair partly caused by excess of fatigue. At all costs, do never try to force things whenever your body says ''Hey, I'm exhausted, let me have a break!'' That being said, I do hope everything will be allright soon with your treasured machine. Keep smiling ) !

Twin tubs usually have mechanical Bowden type cables for the brake, linked to the lid or a lever that goes across the lid, not a solenoid.

Perhaps in Hungary...

Speed Queen / Simplicity machines are made in either Canada or the U.S. We never had the model that had a large locking lever across the lid of the spin tub. And these machines do not have cables connecting the spinner to the brake. Nice of you to offer your insight, but I'm afraid it doesn't apply in our case - the mechanism is as I have described. Twintubber and I have the same machines.

For the advice.
I wanted to ask in case any other users may have experienced similar situations and could offer some advice before I dive in there blindly.
Although not the worst issue that could have happened, it's still an issue.

Unclejohn: I hear you about botched jobs, frustration and exhaustion. That's why I'm waiting until after the Weekend and face this relaxed and with a clear focus.

Brad: I had a feeling you might have some insight and I thank you once again for the suggestions-I will surely keep you posted as to the issues &/or end results.

Fido: As Brad mentioned, our machines over here are very different. In fact, the Simplicity/Speed Queens's machines made in North America features a direct-drive spin motor, so there are no cables or pulleys. It is also an extremely quiet spinner as well.

Today is a huge laundry day, been nearly two weeks. In Twin Tub World, that's most of my day there.
But today will also be "Twin Twin-Tubbing". The Maytag A50 AND the Simplicity are gonna be driving away together side-by-side.
Should make for a very splashy afternoon.

Good luck in finding the problem TT! Twin-Twin Tubbing sounds like a good way to spend the day. I once did what I guess you could call Tri-Tubbing, as I used my 0519 and my GE Filter Flo to do a few loads of laundry. Worked pretty good with the FF catching the lint from the wash, then a spin in the Hoover to extract suds, and a good rinse in the Hoover wash tub followed by a Hoover automatic rinse and spin.

Hey Barco.....

Sounds similar to what I have to do due to the no spin-rinsing in the Maytag A50.
Unfortunately the A50 also has NO lint capturing abilities whatsoever. The Simplicity is not so fantastic either. It tends to be left up to the dryer to do the de-linting. Not the most desirable way of solving the issue I must say.
BUT, when that Hoover of mine is up and running, it's gonna be great to finally test that "Filter-Flo" style of lint filtration-especially in a Hoover.
unclejohn hadn't tested his out for that as much as I will need to so he wasn't as sure of the system. But it was good to know that he was familiar with it as well.

Yep, that is the one thing I don't like about my Hoover is the lack of lint filtering. The last load of towels I did in it was full of lint after pulling it out of the spinner, so it was off to the dryer. But I guess I am spoiled with having a GE Filter Flo as my daily driver.
