Back from Egypt!

And what a trip it was! Hubby and I started in Cairo, did a two-day desert camping trip, then flew to Luxor, and finished up the trip in Aswan. It was an amazing experience to see the pyramids, tombs, and treasures from the times of the Pharohs. We are back, safe and sound, and tanned from the desert sun!
Thought I'd post a couple of photos to share (we took a few hundred, as you can imagine!)
Here's one of yours truly on a camel - I kept thinking of that old Bugs Bunny cartoon with Yosemite Sam yelling to a camel "When I say 'WHOA' I mean 'WHOA'.

It isn't as big as one thinks, but impressive nonetheless.
After visiting the pyramids, Hubby has decided that he will start building a tomb for me to make disposing of the vintage appliance collection easier for him...

Sunset in the Western Desert

We camped out in the "white desert" near Bawiti, where there is a huge oasis. It was amazing - the funniest thing was that desert foxes actually slept with us on our camping mats out in the open!

Also very impressive - we visited this one independently of a tour so we had lots of time to look around. We wound up spending most of the day there!

Chillin' by the Nile

This was the last hotel we stayed at in Aswan - right across the street from the Nile with a great view. The place had a pool which was very much appreciated with daytime highs in the low 100's!
So, now I am back I have to prioritize things... Look for a new job or work on the Westy... Guess which won?? LOL

Great pictures, looks like you had a wonderful trip. It's always great to go on a trip and discover other parts of the world. I could do that for the rest of my life!
