also been using BKF for donkeys years - great for copper pans and makes carbon steel knives look like new!

I also saw a version of BKF that contained citric acid and not oxalic. I prefer the version with the oxalic, so put the citric acid version back on the shelf.  Best make sure you are getting the version you want before buying it.

I use it on my SS sink, All Clad cookware(I think they recommend it), and I dilute a bit with water and let the solution soak on my SS cooktop a bit before wiping it with a sponge...does a great job.

Speaking of Aunt Clara...

Did you know that she really liked door knobs? She was also a very accomplished actress (like most everyone on Bewitched) by the time that she was on the show.

works on gas burner grates and caps

I have a Frigidaire gas range in white, with gray porcelain grates. About five years after purchase, I learned from the owner's manual that the grates are DW-safe, which is a big plus for me since now and then I run them through the DW and they stay sparkling clean. However, the burner caps are NOT listed as DW-safe because they are porcelain on one side (upper side) and cast iron on the lower flame side. Two of the five were stained. I used BKF and in 15 seconds of gentle scrubbing with a used toothbrush, both caps came out sparkling clean. This stuff is amazing. There are some burned-on spots that the DW doesn't remove, I think I'll just use BKF on them from now on.

Ps if you are considering a gas range or cooktop, most people look at burner layout, design, knobs, and BTU. In retrospect, I'd add a recommendation to check if the grates are DW-safe. Cast iron grates are not generally DW safe, some porcelainized grates are safe. In my case, I didn't know the DW was safe until four or five years after purchase, when I found the info in the PDF version of the owners manual. BKF works great on porcelain, but not sure if it's safe to use on cast iron, uncoated grates. Keeping those clean could be a real chore/pain in the butt.
