I hate to correct you but America didn't not elect Bush in 2000. The Supreme Court selected him. Each candidate, Gore,Bush won 49% of the vote in Florida. I will go to my grave believing Al Gore won that election. Nobody,nobody, can convince me that Pat Buchanan,who ran as in independant,won 3000 votes in heavily jewish,liberal Palm Beach County.
Imagine how much better off this country would be had Bush not highjacked the presidency.

But, yes, that is the thing with democracies...how did Winston Churchill put it? "The worst form of government...except for all the rest?"

I just hope the US constitution survives this administration. My dad remembers Germany in the 1930's very well and he says the difference is now only one of degree.

And yes, you are right - Bush #43 at his worst is not comparable to Hitler. Hitler murdered over six million Jews, millions of Catholics and homosexuals; gave Stalin the coverage he needed to murder 30 million Russian peasants...

But von Rippentrop does come to mind at times, I swear.

Hi - Keven - you are right - I once lived also in Bayern (Bavaria) during my civil service which I did in the hospital in München-Pasing!

In to my mind I do agree fully to the non-comparability of Bush and Hitler!
