I've been looking for a waffle maker with removable plates for a while and as much as I want the old Black and Decker one, finances are prohibiting me from getting a new one (Id look used but every one ive see thrifiting doesn't have removeable plates or is messed up)

I found this at the big blue box... $17 i figured i'd give it a shot... Seems to have ok raiting.. Sadly no temp control but i'd try it out

User ratings were mostly positive, so I'd say it's $17 well spent.

Here's my favorite recipe to go with your new waffle maker. Can't eat them anymore, but I make them for guests, all of whom demand the recipe. I believe Aretha Frankenstein's is a restaurant (chain, possibly?) in the south.

ARETHA FRANKENSTEIN'S WAFFLES OF INSANE GREATNESS
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1-1/2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda and salt in mixing bowl. Whisk in milk, vegetable oil, egg, sugar and vanilla. Let stand for 30 minutes.

2. Cook waffles according to manufacturer's instructions for your waffle maker.

Made them this morning Frig! They are awesome! Sooooo good!

Thank you

Its a little slow, but it works decently.. It has a 2 year warranty as well, so its decent addition to the collection

Decided to try the waffle recipe today and they were quite good, will try them again.  Issue I had will require some experimenting, I think the setting of my waffle iron that I normally use will have to be increased.  The outside of the waffles was light golden brown, but the inside was too moist.  A higher initial temp will definitely help next time around.

I had a hard time waiting the 30 minutes for the batter to ripen...
