oooohhhhh, sunny yellow....

I really love this pastel yellow. It's a shame we hardly ever see this color. I'm curious as to why this shade of yellow never took off while the various "harvest golds" did.

Are we sure it's not Frost Proof?  It appears to have a fan to draw air from the freezer to cool the fresh food section, which is something I've always associated with frost free system.

I can't recall whether it has been stated here in the past that some Frigidaires had those fans, but still weren't frost free.

If it's a Frost Proof model, being in such beautiful shape and complete, it's well worth the asking price.

hey PhilR

This is a 1958... but not a Frost Proof. The 1958 has the badge/emblem on the refrigerator door to declare that it is a Frost Proof(first year for frost proof.) The freezer will have a full shelf the is striped. I own a 1958 tech book.

RE air to cool fridge..

On these there was a separate small evaporator just for the refrigerator cabinet...before the days of trying to figure out the cheapest way to make something!!!LOL, I would RATHER it NOT be frost free, much less upkeep and power consumption, plus your frozen food will keep MUCH better.Wish it was a Westinghouse of this vintage...its only an hour or so away.

I'd take FP-142-58 in any color, even repainted in Almon

I spent so many hours looking at the Frost-Proof version of this in my Tech Talks that I have in multiple copies, believe me, I know the difference too!   I've never seen one in person or advertised for sale though but a few Cold Pantry models surfaced recently I almost got one in New York state recently but the seller changed his mind and decided to keep it. I hope I can get one of the Frost-Proof version some day! That and the 1966-67 models with the electric door opener!

I hate defrosting a freezer as much as cleaning an oven manually!

Yes these! I'll have to find that in the US because the Canadian model (which I have never seen) didn't have an electric door opener. Instead, it had two foot pedals!

Really need the tech talk or manual for FP-142-58

I really need to find the service manual for the 59s or the tech talk vol IX, 03. I just bought one of these and I want to check out some issues including the freezer evaporator fan not working and really need a schematic. Anyone's help will really be appreciated! FP-142-58
