The grinding noise seems to only happens when the cycle has started, but stops after a while

Now there is a slight glitch with the programmer, as when i set it to wash on a cottons 60 cycle, the machine washes at 40 instead :S which isn't good as i always do my bedding and towels at 60 to kill germs.

It also happens, if I use the synthetics wash, and want to respin the clothes at 1200 to extract more water, i select spin, press start and the wash light comes on it starts to fill the machine with water and rinse the clothes instead of spinning them.

this machine is nearly a year and a half old, and its starting to have problems...I think i wont buy another new machine in future, I will buy a second hand reconditioned machine.

Only one year and a half

Can't you simply call Beko and ask for a repair under the standard warranty? I think all over the EU is two years, isn't it?

Ah! I just checked

Why don't you get a Candy machine? They come with a 5 years part warranty on top of the standard warranty and are so cheap, indeed the cheapest machine start at only 230 £ and offer great washing quality!

If you were in the market for a new washing machine, its a shame you are not in the London area as I have an Indesit IWD5123 which has a 5 year manufacturer wararnty along with 2 year parts and labour warranty with John Lewis. This is on sale for £200 but may accept offers. It seems like a great machine but we decided to get a Zanussi instead due to needing extra rinse function.

who in the right mind would buy a candy or indesit? Bosch and LG ftw.... if you can afford it miele or siemens are good too.

boschlover,

It depends on ones budget. If I had lots of money then I would of bought a Miele or LG myself but unfortunately not all of us can have an expensive machine and some might prefer a particular brand over the other. For my 'cheap' machine, I chose a Zanussi which I hope lasts at least 6 years.

Im considering

A John Lewis Machine, as you get a 3 year warranty and they seem better made than zanussi machines even though they are zanussi, the plastics seem alot thicker and you get a easy access fluff filter as alot of zanussi machines are cheapened down.

I'm fed up

I did a load of colours today at 40 synthetics, during the cycle I touched the glass and it was roasting, I was thinking my poor clothes are being washed at 60 degrees :O

I'm so fed up seriously - The washing machine is going and thats that. I'm going to sell it on gumtree.

I dont want to fix it because its a piece of crap!! Its Noisy, it has a loud pump and I cant bear to be in the same room as it.

Beko are rubbish!!

Zanussi Lover,

I like the look of the machine, it looks like it has a Jet System from the picture but that might be for illustration only. I never had problem with jet on my AEG and do miss it as it did a fine job. Our existing Zanussi employs a top door fill design so it showers the load when filling up to help saturate it.

Sorry to hear of ur experience with Beko, I actually was gonna buy a Beko before the Zanussi but was told not to, I had to get anything but Beko, Indesit and Hotpoint otherwise I would have had an ear bashing. I do like the look of Beko but am happy with the Zanussi as it does a great job with washing and rinsing is first class, no more scratching our skin like we had with the Indesit - which I'm still trying to sell. Good luck with selling the Beko when u get round to it :-)

Hey

I like your zanussi too, but i really hate the fluff filter in the drum lifter, thats a silly design.

The John Lewis machine looks similar to the washer i used to have before the beko, the Zanussi FJS1225W (2001-2010) but i much prefer the egonomic dial

Hi,

I really hated it too and that's why we chose an Indesit over a cheaper Zanussi as I thought that fluff filter thing was just odd but we decided to go for the Zanussi after putting the Indesit away in the garage. I have gotten used to the design now and its not noticable at all when clothes are in the machine, the clothes get lifted up well and all 3 paddles 'shower' the clothes much better than the shallow Indesit ones. I do like how I can see if and when the heating element starts to get limescale on it etc also if I need to check for coins in the filter, theres no more water on the floor unlike all other machines we had, its only minor but it helps. It appears to allow the cutting down of pipes inside the machine as the pump is connected straight to the tub itself.

Let me know how u get on with the John Lewis one when U get it :-)
