Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

don't be

so keen on shedding it, for the ones built today are often not as good.

If you're redoing the kitchen just for an "updated look," that's just silly IN MY OPINION

Have you fully tried it before consigning it to the tip?

However, do what you want, love.

First off, thank you Sarah for posting the cooker here, rather than just dumping it. Rather like the comment made about your washing machine, I doubt you will get a great deal for it, but it would probably be worth putting it on ebay or Freecycle - if someone goes for it it will at least save you a trip to the dump. Be sure that you note its compact size and all the features it has - that will make it more attractive.

What may not be obvious to those not in the know is that this cooker is SMALL, literally 500mm square or a shade under 20 x 20 inch footprint. It came with either four solid plates or ceramic top, I dont recall there being a version of this with a gas top although there was a similar Creda model with did. Its probably around 20-25 years old. There is a lot packed into it for, as well has a 4 burner top, it had a fully thermostatically controlled top oven/grill (broiler) as well as a fan main oven - with self cleaning linings as I recall.

A close friend of mine had one from new and he always liked it and said it performed well, but for a family or someone who did a lot of cooking its size does limit its usefullness. And like most cookers of this type it also sufffers as the main oven is very low, and as I recall it hinged on the bottom which makes a bad situation worse.
