Bendix

That Bendix set is just wonderful! Thanks for sharing your pictures. We can only see part of the timer, from a distance it looks like there is a soak, prewash and main wash on it, is that correct?

Imagine the housewife of that time that got this set new. All the neighbours would be jealous I bet! Now to find old fashioned Ariel...

Thank you

Mark, thank you so much for uploading these, absolutely brilliant. Would definately love to see more of your collection when you have the time, especially things like the slow spin liberator.

Ahhh the memories are flooding back!

Great to see the Bendix close up again and the purple door on the Liberator. Fantastic, your efforts are very much appreciated.

Rob

Cheers Mark was great to see one of those again! Im sure that was th model we had for a while. However I was only 5 or 6 at the time so who knows. Im sure my Paul will love this thread. Il show him when he comes over tonight after work and no doubt watchi his face light up! We might respond in more detail at some point this weekend but Might be impossible as we are heading down to south Wales for a few days for a nice long weekend break. R

The 7147 is my dream washer yet to be found. It was my mums first automatic in 1981 and I only dream about finding one. So rare these days I guess my dream will never come true.

Your very lucky and im not jealous at all..lol

Bendix pair

Hello Mark
Fantastic to see a pair of the beauties, my dad in his 2nd marriage had very similar machines, i think the dials were a little different.

But what great machines they are.....brilliant

And by the llkes of it you have a large collection.

Excellent all of them

All the best
Thanks
Gary

Thanks for posting the photos of the Bendix pair! We had those machines when my dad was transfered to England in 1978, I was 15. I got to pick them out. Wonderful machines! I miss the "Bio" pre-wash with Bold Automatic and Persil Automatic in the main wash, on programme 2. With a little Comfort in the rinse. Ahh, the memories, thanks again for posting! Todd

Hi guys! gosh, this brought back a lot of memories!! My mums very first auto was a square door Bendix but a very basic model, the Bendix Autowasher. One dial and an 'on' light, that was all! She loved that machine and i would love them to bring them back. They seemed to be of such quality and looking back, were like the Rols Royce of lower end autos on the market, if u get me?

Paul

For some reason those old Bendix machines put me in mind of the Aqualtis in quite a few ways.
Didn't Merloni (Indesit) acquire Italian Philco which made those Bendix machines?

I know the Bendix name was only used under licence but the designs were local to Philco Italy.
