Bendix washers--years of production

Does anyone know for how many years Bendix manufactured washing machines, and in particular, the front-loading versions?

I have read that their first machine was produced in 1937, but am unsure if that was a front-loader. I'm especially interested in finding out when production in the U.S. ended. Haven't seen one of those since at least as far back as the early 60s!

Neil the first Bendix washer was a Front Loader, first marketed in 1937. Bendix produced front loaders until they were bought out by Philco in 1957. Philco then continued on to produce both front and top loaders through the early 1970's.
