You are right, there was a lot more focus on modern design in the '50s that there is now. There are parts 2 and 3 for this video also.

If you add _2 to that URL, you'll find Part 2. Change it to _3 and Part 3 appears. As easy as "One! Two! Three!," I started all three downloads of the MPEG_1 files. Part 3 is almost into my E drive as we speak while the first two are already right here. Wouldn't be doing this through dial up. Thanks for the heads-up about this classic film.--Laundry Shark
 
Great video. Right at the beginning there was a shot of someone taking their mail out of a gold colored bottom opening mailbox. I remember one of our neighbors having that exact same mailbox way back when around 1960 and it always fascinated me, we had the boring chute thru the door
