The Maytag is a new design, so we don't have much if any feedback on those.
And they are middle of the line, if even.
The ELux is IMO the better known better performer with better performance per efficency (so to speak) and especially the dryers are just plain better, gentler, more on point in sensing.
And if the 627 is too expensive (even though the 627 matching dryer is apparently just unbeatable) the 527 still has a heater and steam and is more on-par with the Maytag feature wise and still has many of the benefits (same recirc, same underlying wash cycle design, same dryer platform and still pretty amazing sensing even though its the one step down in sensing technology from ELux) the 627 would have.
But if they have to place an order in the 3 digit thousands of dollars, maybe just getting a set of each for 2 people on the board and having both try both switching sets after a week or 2 might be a fair idea.
