I have a Rowenta that I love and have used for many years. That said if it died, odds are I would try one of the new Sunbeams. We were staying at an Air B&B is Savannah last fall, and I as the only one that irons used the Sunbeam the owner had kindly included in the well stocked house. I was amazed at the amount of steam it produced - a shot of steam slightly lifted the iron off the board! It was non stick too.
The only downside for me in this choice is it was somewhat light overall. I much prefer an iron with some substantial weight behind it, makes the job easier for me. I hate lightweight irons, the relative I stay with in GA on trips has one that s so light I can understand why people hate ironing, it makes it a real chore.
