Best Toploading machine?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Isn't the Frigidaire TL mechanism just a rehash of the the ancient White Westinghouse TL mechanism from the late 60's? If I remember correctly, they had a very anemic spin.

Oh MY GOD!

Thank you Bobby for sharing the link of Oasis video but...
honestly if I had to wash my clothes in a washer like that I wouldn't so sure to get them clean at the end of cycle!
Really they stay nearly stopped in the water at the top!!! Maybe better at the bottom with the impeller action I believe but like that I think my Grandma would have disgusted to wash like so!

Horizontal axis washers I think must use the agitator to get a REALLY vigourous action to the wash load... You would prob save more water and energy without, but to this point I suggest FRONT LOADING! Those make a very "beating" action! Don't forget that in the past the wash was made on river stones!

PS: Unless than you pretreat your stain, so it's all different! :-))

Too Much of Good Thing

My thought in watching the Oasis was the load was likely what the manufacturer suggests, just like advertising the Duet washing 23 bath towels.
If a "reality" load were run, we would likely see a more active turn over.
My concern, is the clack at the reverse of each disk revolution. Not only is it annoying it sounds like something mechanical is being stressed.

Jason, I purchase what I believe is the best machine of the most enduring quality. I nurture it and make every attempt to keep it looking and running like the day it was new. If you are pleased with your choice of the Oasis, then so am I. May it serve you well for years to come.

I would have to say-------

I would have to rate them is this order
#-1 Speed Queen---This thing is built like a sherman tank!! With a SS tub and the long stroke, you can't really go wrong, plus the matching dryers rock!! Great airflow and also the top of the range dryer is also SS inside.
#-2 Kenmore/Whirlpool.Pretty much the same as each other, the Kenmore will have more creature comforts that the WP will not. They are tried and true.Easy ti get service, and 120 srokes a minute is not to bad:)
#-3 Fisher and Payke[.Thses machines are really neat and inovative.I have a Girlfriend that wore out one with five kids, so she bought another, and they are energy star rated. They have true spray rincses and a fast 1000 rpm spin. SS tub.F and P has the chioce of a top loading dryer, or the front loading dryer made by GE that will match .
I personally use a Miele for my daily driver, and love it..i wash alot of clothes If I had to buy a TL, RCZ:)
