I wonder if the glass tube fills up with water and then huge air bubbles surge up through the clothes like a big water bong???

Hey I want one of these '65 models lol...

Just kidding.
I know what a water bong is...

That would be cool to have installed in one's living room.

Best part - hands down - the clothes come out folded!

As if he didn't know lol

What's a water bong?

*rolls eyes* :)

It's a tube with water in it and air flows up through the water, you might say it creates "agitation".

Laundry in a bong?

I'm sure it'd be illegal in at least 10 states. California, of course, would be the first to legalize it (for medicinal purposes only).

It would, of course, be an "all-in-one" (washer/dryer combo), and when the police siren, ...er, I mean the buzzer would sound, the clothes would come out looking a little stoned; I mean stone-washed.

Hmmm . . .

If filled with gin and vermouth could it also double as a giant-size martini pitcher? In particular, if it works like a classic Frigidaire then the martinis would be shaken, not stirred . . .

Looks like an early to mid 50's forecast for the future. The woman has that "1955" look about her. Maybe by 2065 we'll have machines that wash, dry and fold the laundry for us. Then the "quaint" old machines that came out this year will in demand for the next generation of restorers!

Never too late to learn something...

I didn't know either what a water bong was and searched for it on the internet. Now I know that those things I see frequently in window displays of smart shops here in Amsterdam are called bongs!

The older-style, clear plastic bleach dispenser from a Maytag washer with some small pipe fittings makes a very interesting bong - and it has that beautiful Maytag script logo on the lid.

It doesn't help with getting the wash done, folded and put away, but if we held it long enough, we didn't care. It's long gone now, perhaps I should have saved it?

Does anyone remember the washer on Lost in Space? She would put the clothes in and then open the door and the clothes were all folded and in plastic wrap. I thought that was so cool when I was a kid.

a wild fantasy

wow picture it, ge filter flow full of"recreational detergent" air comming up the agitator, not only air bubbles in the tub but bubbles and agitation to boot, the hoses available to who ever is around.......Hmmmm. This would be the biggest bong party ever....glad i am too innocent to think of it
