Between this and VW/Audi it's not a great month for German manufacturing.

I hope Bosch isn't letting standards slip because people often buy it as a brand based on their reputation for quality products.

Cords should be fully tested to ensure they meet spec across a range of loads, including abnormal loading beyond their official spec.

Could also be a quality control issue with a cord supplier.

Oh dear, this on top of their fire risk dishwashers from years ago. Not great.

I'm not convinced that German quality is quite what it used to be and don't own any German appliances or drive a German car. I have a French car and it's been great.

My parents have a Bosch dishwasher here in the UK purchased in 2004 that's on the recall list for a potential fire risk but it's been going on and on without any issues and my parents seem to refuse to call an engineer as they think it's going to 'mess up' their dishwasher.

I'm glad that BSH are being proactive and doing a recall. One German appliance I would have though, is a Miele washing machine. Pure quality and innovative features.
