We're So Sorry!

To Our Friends Across the Pond:

All I can say is that I'm sorry Cadbury won't remain in British hands, as many of us here who appreciate their product feel it should have done.

I have no idea what Kraft will do to Cadbury's range or to the quality of its product, but if you ever come over here and taste what they sell as Cheddar cheese, you'll know it doesn't look good.

Again, our sympathies. We've lost a few time-honoured businesses of our own, and we know how it feels.

Probably much the same will happen as did other now gone confectioners. Rowntree-Mackintosh from the UK (Kit Kat etc) I believe was bought out by Nestle but at least the original Kit Kat is much the same. Moir a known Canadian brand for their best Pot of Gold chocolates was bought out by Nabisco first who didn't change really then Hershey bought them and now there is no resemblance to the original POG chocolates except for the name. The contents are like wax.

I've got my fingers crossed that that Kraft dont move Chocolate production to China, like they have with almost all of their food stuffs that they sell here now.

It took all my self control not to have a go at the Kraft Display guy in the lead up to Christmas when he was prominantly displaying the Made in China Captains Table Water crackers on display. Its sad, as the home brand crackers are made in Australia, sell for half the price and taste better as their more expensive Chinese counterpart.

I find it scary that I now have to constantly check food labels to ensure I'm not buying food made in China.

Hopefully they'll leave their milk processing in NZ and continue to manufacture the regional delicacies that they have now.

OH NO!

Cadbury chocolate from the has always been the highlight of the Christmas gift package that Hubby's mum and sister send us ever year... I hate to think what is going to happen to the quality of their products now Kraft is taking over... Guess I'll have to try that truffle recipe from the 1960 Mixer, Blender, and Hand Mixer Cookbook!!

I won't say I don't like all Kraft and Nestle products. Actually I like Miracle Whip BUT, big but, ONLY on a toasted BLT. It aint a BLT without it imho. LOL
Kraft Peanut Butter I like much better than Skippy or JIF, I don't seem to see Kraft Peanut Butter in Michigan, maybe they only sell it in Canada.

What bugs me with these takeovers is when they change an established product they bought
