As of today, September 3, 2009, I am no longer employed! I quit the company I had been working at for the past 10 years because I just could not take it any more. Anyway, this is going to put a dent in my ability to communicate with you all on the board! I didn't think to get all my email addresses when I left but I should be able to keep up the contacts based on the information in profiles. I will apologize in advance if you have trouble reaching me and if you get a bunch of bounced emails! Please use the updated email address that I have entered on my profile. I expect to acquire a PC again soon and I will continue to post photos and updates about my various restorations in progress.
Who knows? This could turn out to be the best thing that has happened to me! I am planning on taking an appliance technican's course (probably won't be able to do so before next spring, though!).
So, any rumours of my demise will be premature! Stay tuned, all!!

Paul, I too want to wish you the very best of luck in whatever you decide to do!! Keep us posted. Terry

Congratulations!!!

Good luck and enjoy!!!

Sorry that I have been so out of touch, but we are beginning the process to sell all of our properties and move(not far).

Thanks!

Wow - I didn't expect to hear from everyone so quickly! I pledge to stay in touch - please don't be alarmed if you don't hear from me for a while, though!
Gotta get me a new PC and some high-speed internet service somehow!

Paul:

A used computer from Craigslist and dial-up will stretch your savings further. Take it from one who's been there, done that - you don't know how long the employment gap will continue 'til it's over. Tightening your belt to the max now will keep things going much better. If you land a new job very soon, no harm done. If you don't, it's that much longer until things get really tight.

I got by for a long time with an $80 Craiglist computer and $10/mo. dial-up. Kept in touch with everyone and kept up with writing assignments too.

Good luck to you! At least you had the option of making your own decision and quit, while with the job I had, I and others were let go because of budget cuts. 2 months now and still noting on my end. :(

best of luck!

when one door closes another does open!

i quit my job of 20 years 2 years ago and it was the best thing i ever did! a bit scary at first but with a good positive attitude you will be fine!

if i can do it anyone can!

congrats on your new life adventure and leaving that old stale job behind!

Wow, Paul. That's a big step in these times. I wish you well and am sure you will land on your feet! Personally, I think you want the tech course so you can hire on with a dealer and get first shot at the haulaways...
