7 of us have January birthdays and celebrate on or around my parents who are born on the 22 and 25th of January. I share the same birthday day date as Elvis.

Bake Off

I made 7 cakes, one for each birthday and in their favorite flavor.
Dad Strawberry Shortcake
Mom Coconut with Lemon Filling and Marshmallow Icing
Shannon (sister) Sour Cream White slightly underbaked with Chocolate Peanut Butter Frosting
Bryan (nephew) Chocolate Fudge Cake
Dillon (nephew) Red Velvet
Behtany (niece) Carrot Cake
Me Applesauce with Sour Cream Frosting.
Here they are as the smoke from all the candles clear. It was pretty obvious the batteries are dead in the fire alarm.

Dad had mom go through the Rolodex and read him the names in alphabetical order. If it sounded good to him he asked for the number and invited them. Dad doesn't read or write but knows numbers. They told guests they could come on Saturday or Sunday but the cakes extravaganza was on Sunday. They had about 20 people on Saturday and mom's care giver came to help with food and clean up. On Sunday dad was the first to cut his cake and didn't want to wait for candle or the crowd's rendition of happy birthday.

Big Drink Of Water

Dad's a Hillbilly and has a host of odd sayings. If someone's tall he calls them a "tall drink of water" My nephews Bryan (15) is 6'5" and growing and Dillon 17 is 6'8". Dad is 5' 10" and I am the shortest of my brothers at 6'3". Bethany and her borther Dillon.

The Famous Frigidaire Range

Buried under crockpots and kettles and with both oven filled to overflowing dinner was catered by my sister, sister in law and myself. A few guests brought desserts.
