Bissell Pro-Heat Little Green Machine

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

We had one, it lasted 5 years. It does a great job. When we moved in this house we had all the carpet replaced. About 3 days after we moved in one of our Labs developed a rather bad case of diarreah. And he walked while he was pooping too. I thought that was it, the carpet is ruined.

But we went out and bought a Little Green Machine based on my sisters recommendation. It got up every bit of that mess. I was amazed. You couldn't even tell the accident even happened.
I never thought that stain would come out! But it did.

The downside to the machine is that it can be difficult to clean if a lot of pet hair gets stuck in it. That's what happened to ours. The suction just gave out on it. But we got a good 5 years of use out of it.

I don't have the little green, but i have a SpotBot whichi is a derrivitive of the Litle' green. I am very happy with it for quick clean ups and stairs. It does a good job on furniture without having to drag out the big cleaner.

Funny thing about the SpotBot that I read in the reviews is the "crop circles' it leaves behind. I'd spend the $119 again.

Get it!

My sister and I both have one. It's great for kitty hurl, also for furniture. I have only one entrance to my apartment; I do the berber carpet there every couple months and it does the job well. I have never used the Bissell product that came with it, though. Just diluted white vinegar and rinse-rinse-rinse. I have an older model, but the newer one should be just as good.

Ours is maybe 5-7 years old; I use it two or three times a year. It works pretty well. Here are the only negatives I can think of:

-The nozzle holes in the cleaning attachments (ours came with two) seem to get plugged pretty easily, even after several clear-water rinses. I don't notice it until the next time I use it, and water only dribbles out. I solve this by using a piece of very fine wire forced through the nozzle hole, just before I use it, and this always does the trick. It may be that mineral deposits in our hard water are what is causing the problem, but my workaround works.

-It's noisy.

-Ours has developed a small leak somewhere; I just set the unit on a folded-up towel while I'm using it and that catches any drips.

Torn...

I am torn between the Spotbot or the Little Green Machine. Anyone have one with the heater? Does the heater work?

Malcolm

Ours has the heater; it's hard to say if it does more than keep the hot water I put in it hot. It doesn't generate steam, of that much I'm sure.

I had the Little green with heat, and I gave it away last month. It's been sitting in my basement for years. Don't get me wrong, for what it is it does a very good job, just that I use my full size carpet cleaner with attachments more, so I had no need for it. For a small spot it works well, just for larger areas it's a bit too small and time consuming.

I also bought the original little green machine (the square one) back in the 90's. I got a fair amount of use out of it, primarily for stuff like car and furniture upholstery. Finally the detergent bottle cap broke and I never was able to fix it properly. When Costco had the updated version on sale last year, I got that one (the rounder kind). It's not the heating kind but I'm not sure I need that. I think the heating kind came out shortly after I got this one. This house is all hard flooring, with area rugs in the living room and one bedroom, and small scatter rugs by doorways etc. The throw rugs go into the washer if they get stained (like cat vomit) or too dirty for vacuuming. The new Little Green machine is still in its box, unopened, but I think it may make a debut spiffing up some car upholstery soon enough. It has a much nicer form factor than the original square version. And that older one went to Goodwill, where maybe someone can fix it.

I have the Pet version of the "Pro Heat", and been very pleased with the results it gives. What I like about the heater, it does heat the water up fast from room temp. After I'm done you can't tell when the cat has made a mess.

Thanks, guys!

I have decided that I am going to get the "pet" variation in February, when I have "after the holiday" money again.

My friend Linn comes over with her big new Hoover carpet machine (it's pretty good,) once in a while and I just really need a small carpet machine.

I am very grateful that Rosa is more faithful in using her box than dear Boris ever was. HOWEVER..........

Mine has the heater

Which works great if you start off with hot water. It's hot! Mine also gets plugged easily, I just use a safety pin to open it up before each use.

Yes, it is noisy! I only use it when I know my upstairs neighbor isn't home.

I don't know how the Spot-Bot would work on something that isn't flat, like the arms of an upholstered chair or the back of a sofa.

SpotBot for Pets

Well, I purchased the SpotBot for Pets. It is in operation now. Amazing! Why didn't I buy one of these things sooner? I bought an extra bottle of the pet cleaner, it is almost gone.

I'm a Happy Camper now.

I think you will like your SpotBot. I have had mine for two or three years now, and it gets used quite regularly.

The only negative, which I won't call a negative, but a caviet is it leaves the carpet too damp in the automatic mode. I usually go back over it a few times with the manual hose. The Crop Circles aren't too bad when you think about the spots that it removed.
