Biz and Oxydol

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Not The Same

As their previous incarnations.

Both are now owned by Phoneix Brands (sp?) and have not changed for the better.

Purchased a box of the new Biz awhile back as K-Sears, after being caught off guard by the change over, and was quickly disappointed. Product makes tons of suds and is very difficut to rinse out. Seems to contain quite allot of fillers as well, since it is a very "fluffy" powder, not at all like the previous blue boxed Biz. As for the scent, the previous 1980's detergent fragrance is gone, replaced by a gaggingly sweet fruit punch scent.

Happy for me, local hardware store had NOS coin laundry vendor sized boxes of the old Biz, and last year nabbed a crate of the same, so am good for the duration. As a matter of fact used some last night on some linens.

Word of warning, if anyone uses the new Biz, us it instead of detergent or in a ratio that gets you where you need to be, without over sudsing and dosing. Though called a "bleach" the new Biz is quite near a detergent on it's own.

Not a used bottle or box, but have returned unopened packages. Usually this is when multiples were purchased because the product was on sale or clearance.

Bought several bottles of Wisk HE, a few years back because it was on deep discount. Well the product suds like crazy and did not rinse well, so took the unused bottles back.Kept the opened bottle for use either at the laundromat, or for laundering mops and rags.

Most stores will not take back any sort of opened product. Food being the exception if it has gone off, or something else renders it not fit for consumption. In those instances one normally can obtain a store credit.

Right, CR Brands is not Phoenix Brands. It was formed when Redox merged with ChemPro, thus the initials.

As I understand it, CR is merely a marketing company and its products are made under contract by Procter & Gamble, which retains an ownership stake.

I hope they don't mess with the powdered version of Oxydol. It's one of my mainstays.
