A way to test for dead corners, for sure.
Saw this on YouTube earlier. Could have also been titled: How to block a spray arm - using 100 ping pong balls. If anything, they should have either put the cutlery tray in the bottom rack or put the balls in a clothes washer.
But what can you expect from self-proclaimed "experts" who say that the tilted drum on the newest LG front loaders were a rare convince, otherwise only found on commercial washers. Huh?

My test for corners was always to pack a few paper towels into the bottom of a typical size glass, and put in all four corners of both racks. This was how I convinced my parents to realize they couldn't put tall cups and glasses in the corners of the GE Nautilus we had. Pulling them out after a few minutes of spray action, the paper towels were bone dry.

That is just plain stupid, although if you want to see some action put them in Hobart KA or a WP Power-Clean.
Best way to test washing ability of a DW in the corners of the upper rack is to take a knife and spread peanut butter inside glasses and see if they get completely clean. I have never seen a DW with a center wash tower clean glasses in the corners along with many DWs that even have an upper wash arm.
The new GE DW GDF-514 with the silly X arms I am testing in my kitchen is terrible in the corners of the top rack.

Best to put the ping-pong balls in a washer-Remember a display at the Wards store years ago-was in the same shopping center as Sears-so the competition between the two was hot-The balls were in a Maytag washer with a Load Sensor agitator.Next to it was a sEars machine with a similar load.The Maytag did a better job of agitating the balls.Next the Wards sales guy put a light bulb in the machine to show that it would not get broken.However he did not put a light bulb in the Sears machine!

Maytag Display
I remember a Maytag washing machine display unit with a clear lid full of poker chips. It agitated the hell out them, too.
