hi everyone!! hope y'all are good. maybe you remember me from an another thread that i did about thinking to buy a Siemens version of this. i ended up buying the Bosch SMS8YD182T.

and today i received my dishwasher, did my first test load and everything was perfectly okay... until others in the house pointed me that the door looks misaligned at the top right corner 😢 then i checked and they were right. now i can't unsee it.

when i open the door and check the side panels etc. everything looks okay, no bents or dents. when i fully close the door, after i hear the click sound, the top right part becomes like that. it's like, the right part is pushing too far inside while the left part is pushing normally. or maybe the top part of the machine might be misaligned too? i'm not sure.

i'll be attaching three pics showing the overall look, the weird right corner and the normal left corner.

is this something that i can adjust?

can someone tell me would this cause any problems in the future or is this normal, or is it not? am i overthinking or should i call the service?

thank you so much!!

Damaged new appliance

This type of thing needs to be decided on a case by case basis, if it doesn’t hurt anything, it doesn’t bother you see if you can get a price reduction, it’s unlikely to affect the machine.

Remember, it’s very wasteful to demand a replacement of an entire Appliance it Causes a lot of excess energy consumption and contributes to global warming to replace things that are perfectly good and functional.

But you have to decide this is not something I can make a judgment on for many reasons.

Sorry about that ...

But both of our Siemens dishwasher had that skew kinda look.

I think it is the way Siemens/Bosch manufactures their products.

Our Siemens Freezer were delivered without any dents, but after working for about 24 hours the door developed a dent due to the air being cooled and it sucked the metal inwards. Well that was what they told me.

After backwards and forward they eventually brought me a Bosch which was much cheaper but looked the same, the guy then went on to remove the Siemens name to stick it onto the new Bosch Fridge - needless to say I was not happy with that. In the end I did receive a new Siemens Freezer.

So that is my experience with them, good products but not always perfect.

I would give them some grief.

Regards.

Fortunately, none of the BSH appliances I've unpacked for our store over the years had any issues like that.

The one time I did have a problem is when my dryer was delivered with a small scratch in the side panel. Must have happened in the factory. I contacted the retailer and, already on the phone, was given a refund. Can't remember how much it was, as it happened years ago. I'd contact the seller and ask for a refund or exchange.

a very interesting update

i had the chance to visit several different malls today, and to my shock, ALL OF THE SAME MODELS had the misaligned door.

wtf. so this wasn't even an issue. and they were all on the same spot, top right corner. this is shocking to me, idk maybe it's my OCD, but i'm so surprised that this is the standard, and they okay'd these models out of the factory haha. like what even causes this?

but anyways, this means my device wasn't faulty and everything is okay, thankfully.

Quality control

or the lack thereof. 🙄 I recently had a customer who was picking up a Whirlpool oven. It was dented. Had the warehouse employee bring another one: dented as well. Finally, the third one was okay. Clearly, it happened at the factory, since the packaging was perfectly intact.
