I need to replace the drying blower housing on my KDS-16 Dishwasher. What I have been finding is a part that has a shorter exhaust stack then the original. Will this part work? The new housing will install very close the bottom the the tub. Does anyone have experience with this replacement part?
Thanks,
John

You will neet to fashion a short extension out of something so that there is a relatively tight seal between the end of the blower housing as it goes into the tub.

I would suggest getting a piece of 3" aluminum exhaust fan duct and trimming it with shears to get the needed extension. You can then attach it with rivets or short sheet metal screws to the blower housing. This will take a fair amount of trial and error!

To make sure it is good and tight you could finish it off with some strips of high temperature flue pipe tape.

Thank You for the response.
The unit that I am looking at purchasing has the exact exhaust pipe diameter (2"s) and distance between the round smooth section and hem flanges below as the one I am replacing so I expect that the seal will be as tight as the current one. That being the case do you think the housing being closer to the bottom of the tub (almost right against maybe a 1/4 to 3/8 inch clearance)will make a difference?
Thanks,
John
