Perusing a machinery auction in Minneapolis and I ran across this. Apparently some machine shop was using it to spin machining chips to extract the coolant from them prior to recycling. Seems like a crappy way to go, having to scoop the chips out afterwards.

Odds are it will go cheap, although it would need a lot of cleaning. For about $150 or so a new variable frequency drive inverter could be bought to run the 3-phase motor AND give variable speeds.

This would make an AWESOME addition to the collection..... especially since I would LOVE to have one of these!!!

But shipping from Minneapolis, OY! 

Plus I nearly forgot my (unofficial) "New Years Resolution"...

My collection will be loosing weight this year, not gaining.

I was thinking this thing was huge inside, but with a basket 20" dia X 12" deep, it's smaller than I thought .  I do remember you can really pack these things to the rim though!   I wonder if I could get 3 loads of towels in it.    Wait.... do I even HAVE 3 loads of towels??  LOL

Sure Kevin, I'd pick it up and store it if you (or anyone else) wanted it. This one is probably a bit big for home use though.

I got a cute little counter top Dishwasher for John from this same auction house.

They have a few appliances pop up from time to time. A while back they had a big lab "tissue" freezer up for auction. It was all stainless inside and out with internal sub-compartments. At 800lbs and with two-stage twin 1Hp compressors it would get to -120F!! I seriously considered buying it to re-sell it. Winning bid was $20!!! Scrap value was probably ten time that, new they were about $10,000. I'm almost positive it was scrapped. I bet it worked just fine...
 
Very cool Phil:

I have used these in Laundromats and compared to laundry right out of the washer laundry out of these feels bone dry.
Also you would not need an inverter as this according to it's ratings plate is a single phase machine.
Kevin just remember that this is a hardmount unit so floor modifications may be needed. Have fun with it they are wonderful machines.

Looks like this auction ended for the grand damage of $51 with 4 bidders...

At that price it may be driven a few blocks across Minneapolis for scrap value, although I'm not sure it would be worth that much at recycling.
