The dryer is a 1980 model built the 34th week.

Would the dryer have originally had those two screws on the top front edge, or did someone rig something to hold it together? Perhaps having lost original parts or something?
I've just never seen that before.

Dryer top screws ... no.  Maybe the clips broke so the screws were added as an alternative.
