Hey all
I have a commercial 7qt KitchenAid that I don't use a lot because of how big it is. It seems like a waste to mess it up for little stuff.
I had been toying with the idea of getting the cute little KitchenAid mini but there really is no point.
I went to a friends house tonight to help her design her new kitchen and we got to talking about mixers and she showed me the mixers she has. One of them is a Bosch Skyline MUM5. I absolutely fell in love with the size and the slicer/shredder kit that comes with them. She is a bosch dealer so she went to check if she could get me one and they were discontinued.
I started searching online and found one left for 300 bucks. I was about to order it but I started reading reviews and I figured I would do some more research first. Normally I would have posted this to thefreshloaf.com but I figured I should start here first.
What I am wanting to know is if I buy a 900w Bosch MUM5 online, from Germany, is there a way I could use it here? Most of the research I am finding is converting American KitchenAid mixers to work on EU power, but I am not finding the opposite.
If I can't do that, I can get the Bosch Compact at a good price but I am wondering how they hold up?
I am not looking for something to make heavy thick doughs, I have the KitchenAid for that and sometime down the road maybe the Assistent, but I feel the Compact would be a better purchase for how I am looking to use instead of the Mini KitchenAid.
I want to add that I've never looked into the Bosch mixers before until tonight because I thought they only had the universal mixer and didn't know they had other versions. I absolutely hate the way the Universal works and have no interest in one.
What are your thoughts?
