just starting to straighten out my $10(shipping damaged, side stove in) 2010 bosch shx68e05:while looking over the interior, found a cap marked "salt"-wow,built in water softening!Anyone use this feature on your bosch dishwasher or have a bosch similar to this model?Racks are a little weird compaired to my American dishwashers-a shallow top rack for silverware, but eager to try out this high tech machine once repairs complete.

almost fixed

yes LOL-side caved in from shipping accident-door damaged too,but apparently nothing technical was damaged.Used various hammers/jacks/wood blocks to get it straigtened out-turned out pretty good though damage can be found if you look close...In the side that got smashed in there was a big maze like plastic piece for the venting that got a few cracks that needed fixed. It has a weird electronic driven main pump motor that I haven't figured out yet:looks like a permanent magnet"wet rotor"type with 6 wires into the main stator and a smaller 3 wire stator on the end,Electronic driven, this motor likely runs faster than the typical 3300-3450 rpm of 60 hz induction motor. Machine is all back together and likely will get it's first run tomorrow.

it works!

working good and no leaks!-really like it so far,1st load came out good and clean-seems to vary the pump speed and water flow to the 2 spray arms and top mounted"flinger"(there is a motorized valve in the pump assembly)to get different spray patterns for the pre-wash and rinses-steady flow for main wash.A few more observations:
-display and cycle LEDs go out when door closed but a red LED projects a spot on the floor under the door when machine active.
-decently quiet even with the side covers and sound padding off for test run-should be very quiet properly installed.
-screens out "yibs"very well.
