Bosch SHE4AM12UC dishwasher hasn't been draining

I have a Bosch SHE4AM12UC dishwasher that hasn't been draining. i have searched other forums and have already done the following:
1. Disassembled the drain line and made sure it was clear from drain pump to garbage disposal.
2. Disassembled drain pump and cleared impeller.
3.Cleared internal screen.
The unit drained for a couple of washes but is back to where it was.
The drain line runs down low through a hole in the side of the cabinet and then rises to the disposer.
I have heard that it should run just below the counter top then drop below the disposal entrance and then up to the disposal. Is this correct?
I also would like to know how to skip to the drain cycle on this model.

Put a nail into the sidewall of your lower cabinet to hang the hose on a loop or upside down "U". Otherwise,there's"backwash" reversing back into the tub after it's done pumpout. The old KitchenAids with gravity drain were best at preventing that but are far gone now. Some of our customers , after replacing their garbage disposals, had no idea in order for their dishwashers to drain properly, they'd have to punch out the molded male piece, that protrudes out for the dishwashers drain hose to be clamped on so it drains into their disposer/drain. Not doing that causes the water to stay inside and never drain. Then,thinking it too was broken, they'd replace a young model , nothing wrong with it,take home a brand new one only to return it claiming the same problem in drainage as their,now far gone,older model. The shit hit the fan once they found out the real problem,owner ignorance. I wound up having a sign, up on the wall showing the correct way to install a new disposal with or without a dishwasher connection.
