The service saga of my grandmas washer is still going on.
The tech was there this week, changed some stuff and the machine still dosen't work.
No surprise - he apparently thought both the water lever sensor and the NTC were broken and tried exchanging both with no result.
Not taking the main board into account appears wild to me.
But I digress.
I'll have to make some calls next week and hope I can get them to just write them off - as I work in the service department of the store chain we bought it from I can see what they already spent on this machine and it's kind of hilarious.
We had an offer going on at work and I actually but an order in for 3 washers.
One reservation is an F6WV710P2S.
While I wouldn't really want that machine I put it in anyways. I can get a cashback on top of the cheap price, so it would be the cheapest option.
It's more of an eventuality back up.
My main contenders are an AEG and a Bosch.
The AEG would be an L8FE86695.
That would be an upper midrange model.
ÖkoMix, 69l drum, 1600rpm.
I really like the featureset. It has the 4 detergent chambers, a recirculation system. Nice cycle selection. The 2 step time saver.
However, it doesn't have a drum light. And she had 2 AEGs in the past 10 years. So not sure if I trust that brand - but the performance so far was always brilliant.
The Bosch (WAX32M10) is on paper pretty similar.
70l drum, 1600rpm, recirculation.
Cycle selection is great to. Options are a bit different. But not worse.
This one has a drum light, but a more limited selection of short cycles.
The machines are pretty much the same on paper.
For what ever reason the AEG scores worse on spinning on the EU data sheet.
It also scores worse on rinsing.
But the AEG has more flexibility in adding rinses. And the SoftPlus feature which could be really nice in the extremely hard water in the area there.
As there are only 2 people living there the drums are overkill on either.
So load sensing is an issue - but both seem tied on that aswell.
Both have 2-step sensing.
With my grandma only getting sicker with time to come more larger items might be a topic.
So the downs cycle on the AEG could be nice.
It's really a draw on either side on my mind.
I might not even have to make choice - the AEG has a delivery date at the end of the month and I'll have to make the purchase by the 4th as I'm driving home on the 5th.
Knowing my place of work it might not arrive in time.
But just in case, I'd like any input or thoughts!
