Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

They look very similar to my Series 6. If so it is a great machine. I think Bosch are trying to streamline their product offering across Europe and the US so they are somewhat similar.

They're very much the same as European machines by the looks of it.
They are dramatically more expensive though!

Fantastic machines!

I own the Siemens version which is the higher end brand of the Bosch group.

If you bought one of these you wouldn't be disappointed.

Quiet, intelligent, flexible, sturdy, high rinses, great options and results!

I was expecting to see a American sized model though like the Bosch logixx (nexxt across the pond that I own!)

Saying that the drums hold a lot on these now!

Hey Darren

Just wondering........it looks like you have a dryer vent already installed above your dryer but nothing seems to be connected to it.  So I'm guessing your dryer is a condenser.  If so, is it a heat pump condenser?

How come you don't have a vented dryer?  I do have a heat pump dryer myself and I'm happy with it but I'd be quite happy to trade it for the Maytag Neptune gas dryer I used to have -- would match your Neptune quite nicely!  Any plans to pick up the matching dryer to your Neptune from eBay or somewhere?

Siemens Branding

Can you detail the advanced features of the Siemens over the Bosch?
I do like that the washer plugs into the dryer, too.

Malcolm

Bosch ans Siemens are 100% the same. There are some styling differences and sometimes a few different cycles - like Lingerie vs. Pillows - but other than that, they are the same.

Hey Mark!

I had a condenser dryer when we moved in and ive had two heat pumps since. Slightly cheaper and not too much longer cycles!

I have a Miele vented dryer down in my wash house which is handy when I want something fast!

Malcolm: logixx is mostly right. My particular machine has two automatic programmes, an automatic dosing system for liquid and softener which is also available on top of the range Bosch machines too.

It was incorporated a hydrosensor which measures the turbidity of the rinse water and alters the number of rinses and quantity of water accordingly which is one of my favourite features as I am a stickler for good rinsing

One "feature" Bosch had that Siemens washers didn't get for a few months was an Allergen cycle that maintained the selected temp for longer and automatically rinsed more.

For this year's IFA, Bosch has announced washers with ActiveOxygen to sanitize in cool and warm water. I'm sure the same thing will be available under the Siemens brand as well.

Excited to see this, but on a practical note, any high rinsing and water usage that is going on in Europe will most likely not be allowed in the USA.  Would like to see one of these in action in the USA before getting too hopeful.  BUT I just saw that it is 220V so there is hope!

High waterlevels

What some might not take into account is that these tubs are "only" ~2cuft while a normal US FL starts at 3,5 or upwards.
With a drum more than 1,5 times as big, one needs 1,5 times as much water to reach the same level.
And these use between 15-20 gallons for an 8kg (something like 17 pound load) and deliver quite good results, though the German Eco cycles go down to as much as 10 gallons for the same load.

Logixx

I've searched everywhere, but cant find any post to do with Bosch introducing Active Oxygen to washers? The only post I have found is reference to them launching Wifi to Washers at this years IFA, as part of a full line roll out of HomeConnect (which is currently exclusive to ovens and dishwashers). Can you share with us a link?

The US Machines are very nice, If I lived in the states, they would be my first choice, as at least they have a heater in them :) I do like the fact that you can plug the dryer into the washer, so only need 1 plug to run them. Wished they had that here in the UK, as some of our houses, do only have one plug, and people need to disconnect the washer and plug in the dryer to continue, meaning only one can be used at a time. Thats said would it not affect the machines if both are running together??

Active oxygen?

Frequently I see references to cleaning with ozone... Letting a couple of ozone bubbles rise through the water isn't going to do a thing. Pressure is needed to really defuse 03 into water so I would imagine they would generate pressure in the machine by putting in a fair amount of water and lots of high temperature thus limiting the kinds of fabrics that you can wash. It probably makes great sense in commercial applications like hotel and hospital laundries where they are washing massive amounts of the same type of industrial duty item in really large heavy duty machines again and again. Also O3 is an unstable molecule and its use is regulated by OSHA. I just can't imagine they would let the average consumer have this in their house.

15 - 20 gallons for 8Kg  or 17 pounds sounds like all I need.  I don't think I have ever seen a North American  front loader completely full...Full almost to the top. Of course they may be with large comforters, but this is a once in a while to never  load for me.

Anyone have a video of pictures of your North American FL packed completely full of clothes and I don't mean a comforter?   I would like to see it and know what the results are.

I would also like to see video's of this washer in action - completely full NO half load like Consumers uses.
