Oh My!

Now that is a beautiful range! Not normally a fan of reaching over hot pots/surfaces to adjust heat settings, but in this case could make an exception. Please share the story of how this unit came to stay MIB for so long.

Wondering if this would make a good daily driver range. Are parts still available?

Just as an aside, not to pick on anyone, but the auction should list the power requirements for the range, as that will surely figure into someone's plans if they are considering bidding. Am guessing it is 50 amp 220v?

How this came about

Ok here's the story The company I work for ( Realiable appliance parts) purcashed a bussiness several years ago in Salt Lake, at one time back in the day all they sold where new appliances they were a Frigidare dealer in the city. this was left over from old stock in the back room not moved for some 30+ years It was given to one of the guys that worked there as a thank you. He was going to use it in his home which didn't work out that way. I told him from the start he should try selling it. This a rare unit let alone new!!! So on this trip down there He said it's going in the garbage or help me sell it as I have no use for it. So it was listed. With a very low reserve price :)

I had this in a free standing version(poppy red)and thorowly enjoyed every minute of use I got from it.A Compact 30 model looks awsome!!!!

I fell over when i found the books for it online at frigidaire, but to see one in person.. Kaplunk! (peeling bob and chad up with a spatula)

AWESOME!!! I cannot believe nobody has bid on that gem yet! I swore it was a WCI Frigidare upon first look. I didn't know there were any GM-Frigidare with electronic touchpads or flat-top cooking surfaces made. That range was definitely ahead of it's time! I'd buy that up in a heartbeat if it was close enough to haul it!

When I was 16, I talked my parents into buying a harvest gold Touch-N-Cook range in 1974. It was big bucks at the time, $679, if I recall, but the coolest range on the planet.... or so I thought. The styling was really neat... and to be able to clean the oven with one touch of a keypad! Had a control board failure about 3 yrs later (warranty still I think)... and the Corning ceramic top was slow to heat and cool, and there was lots of nightly scrubbing to keep that ceramic shiny and white, but it was beautiful. My Dad dumped it... I guess... sometime in the 90's, when it was replaced by a smooth top Maytag. Ah.. memories.
